The European Parliament has backed updated rules to strengthen worker protection against exposure to dangerous chemicals. The measures are expected to prevent around 1,700 lung cancer cases.
The updated rules clarify provisions on personal protective equipment such as respiratory protective devices, including the right to take breaks in contamination-free areas.
